Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women w/ oestrogen receptor positive invasive early breast cancer, following 2-3 yr of initial adjuvant tamoxifen therapy. Treatment of advanced breast cancer in women w/ natural or induced postmenopausal status whose disease has progressed following anti-oestrogen therapy.
Post-menopausal status should be ascertained prior to treatment. Reduction in bone mineral density & increased fracture rate. Hepatic or renal impairment. May impair ability to drive & use machines. Women of perimenopausal status or child-bearing potential. Not recommended in childn & adolescents.
